Three Wheeled Buggies
Whether you're seeking a buggy to jog with or just a nifty stroller to tackle strolls around the neighborhood, three-wheeled buggies provide great mobility. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver even in tight spaces.
If you want a smooth ride with your pram, choose models with 360deg front wheels with swivel. However, they are prone to punctures, so make sure you are prepared with an repair kit.
Sturdy frame
New figures show that the three-wheeled buggies, the symbol of the noughties that were more expensive than common sense, are in steep decline. They've been replaced with four-wheelers that can be more versatile in terrain, while also looking swanky and being easy to push.
The basic idea is that the bigger the wheels are, the easier it'll be for your buggy to cope with bumpy and rough pavements. With larger wheels front and back makes it easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or on rough terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy out with a newborn as well as a 3 year old and found that it was able to handle grass, cobbles rough roads, dirt tracks, and kerbs. Kath said that "it is solid to push and is very stable when going over difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable and require occasionally pumping) have suspension built-in which was extremely comfortable for my children.
The size and shape of the seat is a further factor to think about. It is important for the seat to be big enough to allow your child to be comfortable and allow them to lie down. Certain three-wheel buggies come with the option of lying flat, which allows the child to face you, while others only permit a parent-facing option.
The Roma Atlas is a great alternative for off-road or walking in muddy areas. This buggy is suitable for a single child starting from birth, and can be adapted to accommodate two children as your family expands. It is suitable for babies and toddlers from age four and comes with a bumper bar, raincover, a better 5-point harness and large cushioned seat. Storage options are also a plus, with a large basket, zip pockets on the hood, and a handy pouch on the rear of the seat unit.
Larger wheels
Larger wheels give your buggy more stability while driving over rough terrain. This is especially beneficial for buggies that are off-road. They also allow you to move the pushchair around tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies feature the front wheels that swivel to assist you in maneuvering around tight corners, while others are specifically designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to improve the speed and stability with which they can be driven. This is especially useful when you bump against trees or a kerb. The front wheel will lift slightly to keep it from hitting it.
Many 3 wheeled pushchairs have air-filled tyres, which allows them to tackle a broad range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They also tend to be lighter. They are prone to punctures, so you will require an repair kit and spare inner tube in your arsenal.
Some of our favourite 3-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. three wheel pushchair of these buggies come with larger wheels that, as per MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on grass, gravel tracks and market town cobbles" and are able to easily move up and down kerbs. They also have a suspension system which, in her words "smoothes out bumps with great efficiency".
The drawback of having larger wheels is that they can make buggies quite large and may struggle to squeeze through narrow spaces. This is an issue especially if you're using it to a jogger or to maneuver through doorways that are narrow when you're out and out and about. Luckily, most models have compact folding options that allow you to take off the front wheels for more compact storage.
Easy to Manoeuvre
One of the major advantages to a three-wheeled buggy is that it's much easier to maneuver particularly with a child on the way. They are designed to ensure that the front wheels turn on a dime, and are easy to move, making them ideal for difficult terrain like cobblestones, parks, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried the 3-wheeler with her toddler, and she said: "The Terrain is a delight to navigate in rough terrain. The front swivel wheel was particularly useful." I was also awed by how well it dealt with kerbs using the hand-operated break. I found it extremely stable when driving downhill or on uneven ground."
The only drawback to this amazing maneuverability is that the larger wheels of a 3 wheel buggy can sometimes make it difficult to squeeze into tight spaces. 3 wheel pushchair is something you should be aware of when you live in one of the cities. If this is a problem then a 4-wheeled buggy could be the better choice for you.
Bumper bar
Bumper bars will protect your child from bumps and scrapes when out and about. They are simple and quick to put in and will make your child feel safe and secure whilst out on the town or tackling tough terrain.
It is designed to complement the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller, this bumper bar is an upholstered and soft surface that provides a comfortable spot for your child to hang to while walking. The durable construction and sturdy design ensure that your child can enjoy a stroll without fearing of falling out of the buggy or leaning too far ahead.
The sling seat made of fabric sits in the frame, snugly rather than over it as modular seats. It provides the lowest center of gravity at the right height for your baby and also providing great weight distribution for a simple kerb pop (it requires less effort to push the buggy up and over a curb than you might think). MFM reviewer Kath said it was excellent on cobbles and grass. It's also a great alternative for running, thanks to its air-filled tyres and lockable swivel wheel.
This bumper bar is sure to make heads turn wherever it's used. It has a classy and stylish design. Available in a range of colours and finishes that can be customized to fit your style. The bumper bar is easily removed and put in place by a quick-release mechanism. Additionally, the bumper bar is easy to clean and is constructed of durable materials that are simple to wipe down. This makes it an excellent option for families that want an attractive and secure accessory for their stroller.
Comfort
A 3-wheel buggy offers the highest level of agility and performance when driving off-road. This kind of buggy is simple to steer and turn in a flash thanks to its perfect geometry engineering, weight, and distribution.
The Sport's clever design places the fabric sling seat inside the frame, not sitting on top as modular seats. This lets it have a lower center of gravity which means it's easier to push, has a less weighty curb-pop (you will not need to exert as much effort to lift the buggy's nose over the curb) and also provides greater stability and balance. With 16" rear wheels, the lockable front wheel, and tyres that are air-filled, you can enjoy a smoother, more comfortable jog.

As the only pushchair in our collection that comes with a parent-facing seat that can also be used as a carrycot or car seat, you can future proof your family and enjoy every adventure starting at day's end and for years to come in the footprint of a single buggy!
And that's not the only reason you should love this buggy It's also a great way to get around - our MFM reviewer Kath was amazed by how big it is too. There's a large, easily accessible basket that's quite spacious for a buggy this small and there's a handy zipped pouch on the back of the seat and even 2 smaller mesh pockets in the hood to store your phone and keys.
